Creative side projects are probably going to be the one thing that will keep me sane this year. I really want to see this freelance photography and writing thing succeed. I have still yet to sell a print. I am trying to figure out to get noticed. The idea of being viral is phenomenal but who really acts about a call to action other than sharing it on his or her social media?
It’s frustrating, I’ll admit. I knew this when I had the whole notion to attempt it. I’ve found SmugMug fairly reasonable with everything, including the upfront cost to upload and sell everything. Now I just need someone to buy a photo. But I just signed up with Flickr as well. Nothing is there yet, I still want to figure out how the site works but I remember reading somewhere it’s great for commercial licensing of photography. I am also debating etsy. I have also had friends at work describe that I have a better chance of self printing my photos and selling them in person. So…maybe craft fairs???
I honestly don’t know. I feel like I putting a bunch of fishing pool out and hoping at least something bites. The part of me that demands instant results is disappointed but I am not going to give up on this one. But perseverance. And it also keeps giving me hope that I might be able to do what I love again.
I am trying to craft a blog for writing as well. Hint, hint- 757 musings, a work in a progress
If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated.
